Mark began his career in interior design in the early 80s but found his true calling in Her Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS), where he gained over 30 years of experience. Starting as a front-line staff member, Mark later became a wellbeing manager, supporting staff working in some of the most challenging prison environments.
In this role, Mark developed and delivered resilience and supervision training, as well as post-incident staff care training, for teams across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Known for his committed yet humorous approach, Mark builds strong connections with those he works with, creating an environment where people feel supported and engaged.
As a qualified mindfulness and meditation teacher, Mark teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). He has also worked alongside renowned mindfulness author Shamash Alidina.
In 2017, Mark qualified as an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist with the EMDR Centre in London. This therapy has proven highly effective for individuals suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
A lifelong guitar player and semi-professional musician based in Manchester, Mark is also working towards obtaining his private pilot’s licence.
